After the year 2007 full of events the following tango year was a little bit more quiet. But in 2008 we could invite again two couples from Argentina to Graz for their first time. Numerous milongas and continuous prácticas perfected the program of Tango GRAZioso:
The workshop weekend in February was mastered by Argentinian Gregorio & Dina Garrido for the first time who enlightened the visitors of the Milonga iKU with their dance act.
Birte & Markus initiated a tango evening back again at Theatercafé also in February, which was repeated once in April.
During March came the end of the long lasting Tango Sunday at Hotel Wiesler, but the tango community enjoyed the start of the Tangobar initiated by Andreas, (almost) every Sunday at Kunsthaus Graz.
Martin Birnbaumer & Claudia Grava held another workshop in May (accompanied again by their youngest tanguero Gabriel) and Tango GRAZioso enjoyed Dinner & Tango at iKU.
In June we were pleased to accounce a milonga with live music: Mala Junta with Christian Bakanic, Georgios Zacharoudis, Aris Feslikidis and Rina Kacinari enlightened the dancers at the Milonga at mo.xx.
Another premiere followed in July: Andreas organised the first Tango Training Week at Tanz und Theater Zentrum (TTZ) with teachers Jorge & Andrea.
The last tango premiere of 2008 came to us in September: Sebastián Posadas & Eugenia Eberhardt from Estudio DNI in Buenos Aires taught in Graz for the first time. They held a guided práctica on Wednesday right before the workshop weekend and brightened our milonga at iKU on Friday with a showdance.
Luis Méndes & Gabriela González visited us again in November, they also showed us a beautiful dance at the Milonga at mo.xx.
