Narcotango

Narcotango

Narcotango is a fusion tango project founded by the musician Carlos Libedinsky from Buenos Aires. The band follows up with the tradition of the French Gotan Project who sold more than 1.000.000 CD's all over the world. In Argentina Narcotango is one of the leading representatives of electrotango. After its first big tour around Europe in the end of 2005 the band attracted a big fan community whose members are not only tango dancers. On tour in Germany more than 6.000 visitors at 10 concerts are a clear sign of the tour's success.

With their very first compilation Narcotango jumped right to the top of the international electrotango scene. The compilation simply named after the band itself was played at milongas and in clubs all over the world and was celebrated by the audience in countless live shows. "narcotango 2" sets a clear sign of diversity compared with other bands of the tango music scene. The new CD shows off with a huge variety of structures and melancholic melodies that are skillfully woven with strong beats. This convinces both friends of world music, jazz and electronic beats. One thing, however, is most evident: The band's roots are in tango!

Carlos Libedinsky tells about the music of "narcotango 2":
"Tango is burning with passion, coexisting, struggling and creating new ways of expression in music and dance, like a delicate heartbeat intimately tied to its roots, dramatically and happily seduced by the present."
