Tango roots meet Tango Nuevo
Fernando Miceli - singer/guitar player/composer - has gained a deserved reputation in the tango scene in South America and Europe as an interpreter of the modern "Tango Argentino". With his latest CD production "Tangode Raíz" Fernando Miceli had a successful tour in Germany 2006 and 2007 which was highlighted by two presentations at the "Berliner Pilharmonie".
Fernando was born in Quilmes near to Buenos Aires. At the age of 6 years Miceli took his first steps towards music being assisted by his mother, a music teacher and opera singer. In 1978 Miceli was admitted in the "Conservatorio Nacional Manuel de Falla" of Buenos Aires, where he studied cello, flute, choral direction and singing. He was trained in tango interpretation by the well known maestro Sebastian Piana. Miceli's first public concerts were as baritone of the choir of the "Conservatorio Nacional Manuel de Falla" and "Coro Bach". He built also his first chamber voice ensemble "Octeto del Sur" which Miceli lead and with which he gave several performances. After finishing his music studies in 1986 Fernando Miceli absolved a two years drama study in Buenos Aires.
In 1992 Fernando Miceli immigrated to Berlin where he is well-known as as singer as well as a music journalist. He produces and moderates the web broadcast Tango Globale on Radio Multicult.
